Cippenham Pocket Park
Client:
Slough Borough Council
Location:
Cippenham Pocket Park is situated 2 miles west of Slough Town Centre, which is accessed directly from junction 6 of the M4.
Site Size:
2.39 Hectares (5.90 Acres)
Scope of Works / Project Background:
Illegal encampment had disrupted this small local community for many years. Once again Woodland proposed a solution for Slough Borough Council
Ten acres of green belt land was completely re-landscaped into an undulating, enhanced and useful public amenity. The addition of 1000 trees and shrubs formed part of the works.
The whole topography of this redundant greenspace was re-landscaped to form an undulating, natural landscape. This new landscape prevented unauthorised traveller access and saved rate payers and the council the huge costs that had previously been annually incurred for clearing and cleaning the site.
Once restoration was compete, extensive wild and meadow flower seeding was added to the main landscape, creating a scenic and appealing pocket park for public use. In addition to seeding, over 1000 new shrubs and trees were added to the landscape.
